About the Cross on a Mound design

Each end of this cross swells into a rounded knob, like the tip of a bone. Small ledges notch the outline where the arms leave the post. Below, the long post sinks into a smooth, slightly lopsided dome of earth. That dome rests on a flat squared block with a short shelf at each shoulder, and no cut breaks the solid black anywhere inside.
