About the Ringed Cross design

The lower shaft runs long and flares toward the bottom, its concave sides spreading like the foot of a candlestick before ending in a flat, square base. Above it, the side arms widen as they reach outward and stop in blunt, squared ends, while the top arm stays short and stubby. A thick ring links all four arms, and the only openings in the shape are four small quarter-circle windows tucked into its corners. The center where the arms cross is left solid, with no carving or knotwork.
