About the sign
One character, cut from a single sheet of steel. The letter A is the whole sign: there is no backing plate and no border, so the shape on the wall is the character itself.
8 Art Deco typefaces to choose from, each measured against the steel at every size offered before it was drawn for sale.

About the Art Deco Letter A design
Across these eight versions the letter A swings from a single thin wire to a slab of black with only a small triangular window near its base. Two faces bend both legs into a pointed arch and stand them on long curved feet, and one of those splits its right leg with a long slot. Another rounds the peak into a dome and runs the crossbar out past both legs.
