About the Art Nouveau Letter U design
Heavy left arms and lighter right ones give this U a lopsided swing in several faces, with one right arm thinned to a hairline beneath a bracketed serif. One version drops to lowercase, its brushy stems bowing slightly and a small spur kicking out where the bowl meets the right side. Another leans both arms inward as they rise, so the letter narrows into a teardrop left open at its tip. Rounded slab serifs cap a steadier, even stroke on a fourth.
