About the Art Nouveau Number 2 design
Ball terminals curl inward at the top of three of these twos, like the tip of a fern frond, while the neck sweeps down in one long diagonal. The most flowing face ties its base into a closed loop and ends in a round curl, so the foot reads like a length of ribbon. Another pours on so much weight that its base sags into a wavy brushstroke. Elsewhere the foot turns up into a thin spike or a tall square spur.
