About the sign
One character, cut from a single sheet of steel. The number 6 is the whole sign: there is no backing plate and no border, so the shape on the wall is the character itself.
Five Art Nouveau typefaces to choose from, each measured against the steel at every size offered before it was drawn for sale.

About the Art Nouveau Number 6 design
Long curved stems sweep up and over on four of these sixes, and three of them finish in a round ball that hooks back down toward the bowl. The two heaviest faces wrap a thick black ring around a slim oval counter. One face curls the top of its bowl inward so a second ball hangs inside the loop. The last face swaps the curve for a straight, even diagonal with a blunt cut end, dropped onto a wide, rounded triangle.
