About the Four Way Arrow design

Two bars of equal width cross at dead center and reach out to four points, and every point wears an open chevron instead of a filled triangle. A slim notch opens on each side of the shaft where the chevron laps across it, leaving tips shaped like the barb on a fish hook. Each chevron arm stops short of the crossing bars, its end squared off on the diagonal, and a quarter turn of the whole figure changes nothing.
