About the Art Deco Letter S design
Pulled toward straight lines, this S loses much of its roundness, and two faces squeeze the counters nearly shut into a leaning black slab with sliced ends. One of those slabs runs a thin white hairline down its right edge. A squared version swaps the curved spine for a flat bar between two boxy bowls, while others end their curves in tall upright spurs or, in a wire-thin face, rounded hooks.
